John Goodby is a critic, poet and visual artist. He is the leading authority on the work of Dylan Thomas and since 2020 he had been Professor of Arts and Culture at Sheffield Hallam University. He has written, lectured and broadcast extensively on Dylan Thomas and he the author of Under the Spelling Wall: The Poetry of Dylan Thomas (2013), the Collected Poems of Dylan Thomas (2014), Discovering Dylan Thomas (2018) and The Fifth Notebook of Dylan Thomas (2020, with Ade Osbourne). His new biography of Dylan Thomas, written with Chris Wigginton, is due to be published by Reaktion Books in October 2024.

मेरा जीवन बहुत ही संघर्षमय रहा।मेरे पिता जी बोझा ढोने का कार्य आज भी करते हैं। बचपन से ही मेरा रुझान कला के प्रति अच्छा रहा है। सन 2006 में इंटर मीडियट के बाद तुरंत मैने कला को अपने जीवन का एक कैरियर बना लिया।
आगे चलकर मैंने कैरियर के साथ कला में ही सन 2006 से लेकर 2010 के मध्य स्नातक एवम कंटीन्यू सन 2010 से सन 2012 के मध्य परास्नातक कर सन 2013 में यूजीसी से नेट पास की।

अपनी पढ़ाई के साथ ही मैने तमाम सामाजिक कार्यक्रम में प्रतिभाग करता हुवा आज बेसिक में शिक्षक के पद पर तैनात हूं और अपनी सेवाए दे रहा हूं।
